Finding Some Safe, Strong Dividend Plays

My expanded stock watch list is composed of both aggressive and conservative dividend-paying stocks. I highlighted my aggressive plays in columns on May 14 and May 21, and this week I bought my fair share of them. Today I'll focus on some more conservative dividend plays. Caveat: I consider all stocks risky, so using the word "conservative" is meant simply as relative to other stocks. My selections are found among Value Line's lengthy list of stocks with a high safety rating, a rating determined by a combination of a company's financial strength and stock price stability. A safety rating of 1 is the highest awarded by Value Line, and it considers stocks that have a rating of 1 or 2 more appropriate for more conservative investors. I've focused on both fundamental and technical data to help filter through all of Value Line's stocks that are rated 1 or 2...
