It's Hard to Dispute Cabela's Draw

When a shopping trip can make three boys forget about free candy, you have to pay attention to that retail play -- and that's just one reason I like Cabela's . A friend told me that he offered his three young sons the option of going trick-or-treating for Halloween or heading to the "local" Cabela's store, which is at least an hour's drive away. The boys chose Cabela's, and the four of them spent a full eight hours in the store, enjoying elk burgers at the in-store restaurant and spending lots of time in the store's legendary "Bargain Cave." Among other things, my friend walked out with some canned exotic meats that included elk, rattlesnake and alligator.
