ATVI Summary: A Solid Quarter

Activision Blizzard reported a strong quarter, some mixed guidance and a nice surprise in the form of a share repurchase. For the quarter just ended, the company posted EPS of $0.49 on revenues of $2.5 billion (this was above the Street forecast of $0.44 on revenues of $2.23 billion). The company also announced its intention to repurchase $1billion of shares, as well as a $0.15 dividend. Guidance: The company guided Q1 EPS to a range of $0.02 on sales of $525 million (the Street was at $0.08 on sales of $741 million). Guidance for 2010 is for EPS of $0.70 on revenues of $4.4 billion (the Street was at $0.73 on sales of $4.84 billion).
