I spent some time last night reading through the executive summary of the National Broadband Plan published yesterday by the FCC. Yes, there are indeed some wild times in my household at night. Ironically, in reading through the summary, my eyes weren't drawn toward phrases like "'new network", "build-out" and "future upgrades", but more toward the word "affordable." The plan clearly states affordable access for everyone. So, rather than spend time looking through the obvious names that could benefit from a huge network build-out and wireless expansion, I thought I'd opt for the bit more obscure, as the other names are going to get beaten to death with recommendations. The idea of creating broadband access that is affordable to those that wish to have access will create demand beyond the firms providing the network.
