Unless you were an arbitrageur, you could argue that Brocade should be sold right here, right now. That's typically how I would view things. But Brocade feels a lot like Data Domain to me, where you ended up having a bidding war for the company between NetApp and EMC , a war won by the latter. There is a difference, though -- Data Domain had a really good storage business but was not strategic. Brocade is the opposite. Right now Hewlett-Packard and Oracle have been mentioned as possible suitors, but I don't see how Juniper , Dell and IBM can ignore this property. They all need it.
