Unlike yesterday -- when I talked about the recession avoidance camp and how it had taken over -- today's the chaos camp, courtesy of some key bank downgrades, a spike above $100 for oil (taking up everything again, including coal and natural gas), and some really weak job data and the overall poor performance, once again, from Ben Bernanke.
The jobs, the gross domestic product -- that's all about building things that are being sold here and selling things that are being sold here. We need so many stores to close, we need so many homes to NOT be built, that these numbers are only going to get worse. That was the takeaway from some of Ben Bernanke's testimony.
The bank downgrades, all classic regional banks like Trustmark and Synovus and Zions and Susquehanna and Regions are all about bad real estate....
