
The Stimulus Flop Weighs Us Down

The averages tanking, the banks losing, the earnings awful -- man, is it bad out there.
And I don't have any answers other than the new president destroying hope by the minute.
When both the stimulus stocks -- Jacobs Engineering, Foster Wheeler, Caterpillar -- and stocks like Procter & Gamble and FedEx -- the transports are really dreary --getting crushed, this market shows no love for the longs.
My hope? The only hope? The Senate on stimulus. The Senate gets it. I bet we will see 10 times the amount the House wanted for bridges and roads. And a comprehensive plan to solve the banking crisis, which I think can come from Larry Summers, who is a radical, a smart radical, which is so needed.
In fact, all hopes were dashed this week.
Maybe that's the floor that's necessary.
If the two hopes don't materialize, obviously we will go through that...
