
Sprint Is Doing OK

Sprint Nextel is working hard to turn the corner even if that means stepping up the move toward wholesale wireless plans until the Palm Pre saves the day.
The company posted an adjusted EPS number of 3 cents on total revenue of $8.2 billion. The company was cash flow positive and has enough cash on hand to handle all debt maturities. Total subscriber losses were better than expected but with some meaningful movements in Sprint's different lines. Traditional post-paid subs losses were 1.2 million (higher than the forecast, which is bad). The net additions at Boost and the wholesale lines, however, added about 1 million subs combined. Despite this cannibalization of the company's core business, ARPUs actually improved slightly to $56.

Churn was 2.25% (better than projected).
