Claymore is planning to roll out a family of 10 exchange-traded funds that provide investors with exposure to baskets of corporate bonds that share specific maturities. Upon maturity of the underlying bonds, the ETF will terminate and a cash payout will be made to shareholders. Traditional corporate bond ETFs, such as PowerShares High Yield Corporate Bond Portfolio ETF , iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond Fund and iShares iBoxx $ Investment Grade Corporate Bond Fund hold baskets of bonds with various maturities and, because of this, the ETFs have relatively constant maturity. Aside from allowing investors to line up their personal portfolios with their financial needs, these new funds will allow institutions to develop and advertise portfolios specifically structured to meet the specifications of their various clients.
