Endlessly chased and nipped by T-Mobile and Sprint , the two companies have had to cut price, offer the fastest and best phones for much lower prices than they should, and battle portability -- the customer's right to change carriers on a dime. Their stocks have done nothing for years because the competition has been so great that prices never go up enough to offset declining land lines, no matter what they seem to do. So, it is time for a new, hard-charging antitrust division under Christine Varney to look into their dealings and see if they are anti-competitive, presuming the iPhone deal that allows you to get one for much less than you should have been able to through AT&T.
