You can feel the new consensus. It's slipping into the mix. It's about President Obama misreading the economy. It's about how Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) is in charge of stimulating jobs. It's about how the administration is anti-business.
Whenever we have gone down this path it has led to substantial selling as anyone remembers from the March lows. When I picked up the paper and saw that the Department of Justice was going after Verizon and AT&T, I had a shudder -- holy cow, these guys really don't get it! They are just trying to pick on business.
When I have to see the U.S. contrasted with France, which has a much better stimulus program, I just think, oh man, the market's going down -- not just because of earnings and because of oil's collapse but because we're taking business to the cleaners. (See...
