Riverbed's Promise Runs Deep

Are we really starting to buy silly tech companies with no earnings? Is Riverbed really the joke that the press portrays it as, the beginning of the explosion of dot-com-like fantasy stocks that will eventually go bust? Or is there something more to this network appliance stock? I'm acutely sensitive to the quality of IPOs in this market because I do an IPO review once a week on "Mad Money." And while I pooh-poohed the quality of deals coming public this week, I have to say that Riverbed could have an explosion of earnings this very year, and you can't always get in once that happens. If Riverbed delivers it will be a very big company next year at this time and I would fear missing it, not buying it. That was not the case during the dot-com period, when we made up whole new metrics to support...
