Looming Housing Bubble Casts Doubts on Canada ETF

In a recent report by the World Economic Forum, Canada's banking system came out on top as the soundest in the world. This is great news for ETF investors holding the iShares MSCI Canada Index -- the fund is heavily weighted in financials, with The Royal Bank of Canada , Toronto-Dominion Bank and Bank of Nova Scotia all among the fund's top ten holdings. Thanks to strict regulation and avoidance of subprime lending, the big Canadian banks were able to weather the recent global economic crisis better than many other nations. Year to date for the period ended Nov. 3, the fund has reflected this financial strength jumping nearly 41%.
